Kendra Gerlach

Associate Vice President, VCU Health Strategy and Marketing

GerlachKendra Gerlach serves the VCU Health System as associate vice president of strategy and marketing. She is responsible for leading a team that helps drive strategic growth across service lines. 

Kendra brings a successful track record of more than 20 years’ experience in strategic marketing, public relations, communications, business development and government relations across health care and higher education. She has been trained in emergency preparedness and crisis communication by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Kendra’s leadership in large hospitals and health care systems includes Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA; Tenet Healthcare, Atlanta, GA; New Hanover Health Network, Wilmington, NC and the state of North Carolina where she served as chief public relations officer for the Department of Health and Human Services. Most recently, she served as director of marketing and communications for the VCU College of Engineering. 

Kendra earned a Master’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Public Relations from Liberty University where she graduated with high distinction. She was inducted into Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business and Omega Nu Lambda National Honor Society. She earned her undergraduate degree in business administration from Campbell University.
