Special Note for Managers Regarding ADA and FMLA

Two other federal laws also may apply to employees who experience an occupational injury/disease:  the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

Please review the information relating to FMLA, as this law requires supervisors to notify employees of their family and medical leave rights and responsibilities to include informing employees that they may use workers' compensation leave concurrently with FMLA leave.

Please direct questions on how these laws relate to workers' compensation issues to the VCU Workers' Compensation Office by email or call 828-1533.
