Customer Service Recognition ProgramObjectives
- To support the Universitys Strategic Plan and to encourage and reinforce service excellence by providing appropriate and meaningful forms of reward and recognition.
- To recognize Finance and Administration (F&A) Division faculty and staff who consistently exhibit the highest levels of customer service to foster better communication, promote higher productivity, and improve relations among faculty, staff, and students.
Individual Awards
This award recognizes F&A faculty or staff who (1) consistently display the highest level of customer service skills in all interactions with internal and external customers and (2) support the mission and vision of the University and all its publics. Evidence of individual customer service should be demonstrated in communication skills, problem-solving, and customer focus.
Criteria
- Quality customer service
- Professional growth (enhancement of job knowledge and skills)
- Exemplary problem-solving and communication skills
- Commendations from customers
Reward
- Certificate of commendation/appreciation
- Free parking for one year (non-taxable) or comparable benefit (subject to taxes)

Informal Awards
These awards are designed to recognize F&A faculty and staff for their individual accomplishments in informal and entertaining ways.

Nomination, Evaluation, and Recognition Process
- VCU Human Resources will accept nominations and supporting materials, including customer letters of recommendation that document the accomplishment(s).
- An advisory council of VCU Finance and Administration representatives will review the nominations and will make recommendations to the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration.
- The Finance and Administration Division will recognize award recipients at a reception in their honor.
