All new faculty and staff are required
to complete the on-line VCU Safety Awareness Orientation. This training must be
completed prior to or no later than your first day of employment.
Training
includes basic fire safety and chemical safety - "Employee
Right-to-Know."
Here's
what you need to do:
In your orientation materials, you will
receive a
Safety Awareness Book complete with emergency numbers and information.
Print the
Post-Video
Test/Work Area Orientation form and the
Worker's Right-to-Know Statement from the links provided on this Web site,
complete as follows, and have your supervisor maintain these documents in your personnel file.

Next - Complete the
Work Area Orientation
form with your supervisor. This information is designed to familiarize you with your
new surroundings.

Finally - Complete the
Worker's Right-to-Know Statement
with your supervisor.
This information explains what types of hazards are in your work area and how to protect
yourself.
